BLACKPOOL

GETTING TO BLACKPOOL
Rail Travel
Trains from all over the UK run to Blackpool. There are two stations, Blackpool North and South.
All services stop at Blackpool North, which is in the town centre.
All our hotels are just a short cab ride from the train station.

Coach Travel
Visit www.nationalexpress.co.uk to check the numerous services that run to and from Blackpool. Again, the coach station is in the town centre, close to all the hotels and facilities.
Going by car
Blackpool is around 50 miles north of Manchester. Exit the M6 at Junction 32, taking the M55 which takes you straight into Blackpool. To plan your route, visit www.rac.co.uk
Airport(s)
Blackpool has it's own airport and regular services fly from Stansted, Belfast and Dublin.
The airport is in the town, and taxis are available from the terminal building. You'll be no more than 10-15 minutes away from your hotel. The next nearest airport is Liverpool. For flight details for Blackpool and Liverpool, visit www.ryanair.com and www.jet2.com
GETTING AROUND IN BLACKPOOL
Taxi
There are numerous cab firms in Blackpool, and a taxi into town for a night out will cost around £5-£6 if you are based North or South of the town centre. The largest taxi firm is Premier, who now accept credit/debit card payments in their cabs (no minimum fare), which is useful if you've spent all your cash on a night out. Telephone: 01253 401000.
Trams
The famous Blackpool trams are still running the length of the Promenade, and this is a cheap and easy way to get into town if you're staying down by the Pleasure Beach, and you don't want to
take a cab.



BOURNEMOUTH

Going by car
Around 100 miles from London, the M27 provides the main route into Bournemouth.

Bournemouth has it's own airport, but the nearest airport that has a regular service from UK airports is Southampton, which is 33 miles from Bournemouth.

An 'All Day Travel' ticket on Yellow Buses is currently priced at £3 per adult and
£2 per child.



BRIGHTON

GETTING TO BRIGHTON
Rail Travel
If you're travelling from London, there are regular services from London Victoria and London Bridge, fares are reasonably priced. Wherever you're travelling from in the UK, we recommend you check out www.thetrainline.com, you can book your tickets on-line.
Coach Travel
Visit www.nationalexpress.co.uk to check the numerous services that run to and from Brighton.
Going by car
Brighton is 52 miles south of London. Exit M25 at Junction 7 and follow the M23 into Brighton. To plan your route, visit www.rac.co.uk
Airport(s)
London Gatwick is the nearest airport. The M23 and A23 take you straight into Brighton.
The distance is just 27 miles.
GETTING AROUND IN BRIGHTON
Taxi
The minimum fare for a licensed Brighton cab is currently £2.20.

Bus
You can currently buy an all day ticket for £2.40. Individual journeys around the town are £1.20.



CARDIFF

Around 150 miles from London and 100 miles from Birmingham, the M4 provides the main route into Cardiff. To plan your route from anywhere in the UK, visit www.rac.co.uk
Airport(s)
Cardiff has it's own airport. Flights to and from other UK airports are limited. Bristol also has an airport. Visit www.airsouthwest.com for flights to Cardiff and Bristol.
Cardiff Airport is 14 miles from the City Centre.

The Metro is convenient, fast, frequent and easy to use, running from early morning to late at night. Day Savers are £3.40 for a day's unlimited travel after 9.00am weekdays (£4.20 before 9.00am weekdays) and all day at weekends and public holidays.

RIGA

GETTING TO RIGA
Airlines
If you are travelling from the UK the obvious choice might be Ryanair from London Stansted, Liverpool and Dublin, and Ryanair has a new route from East Midlands (UK) to Riga.

Also the airline Air Baltic have flights both from London Gatwick, Manchester and Dublin. You can also fly with AerLingus from Dublin.

Flights are reasonably priced and departure and arrival times are suitable for weekend travellers. Flight times are just over 2 hours 20 minutes from London and around 2 hours 45 minutes from Liverpool, so Riga is a great weekend destination.
